History:
As the oldest service organization in Lawrence, the Social Service League has been providing cost-effective assistance to the financially challenged of Lawrence and Douglas County Kansas since 1863.

The League Thrift Store:
You may be familiar with the Social Service League through The League Thrift Store at 905 Rhode Island. Stop by Wednesday through Friday 9-4 or Saturday 9-2 to check out all of our treasures ranging from clothing, shoes and accessories to books and art supplies, housewares and electronics.

Programs:
Money raised through thrift store sales goes directly back into the community through Social Service League programs. We provide eye exams and glasses for children and adults, shoes for school children, and clothing and bedding for individuals in need.
